Very cold on top, so take a heavy jacket. Was 26 degrees on top Mother's Day weekend in May. More

We rode the train up the mountain and loved it! Our trip started with a blast by having several inches of hail fall while we were waiting for our departure time. We were amazed that one minute it was sunny and the next it was hailing. It stopped and the staff was out within minutes with snow shovels clearing the... More

We went to Pikes Peak and really enjoyed the ride up! The road was scenic and I am a person who freaks out on mountains, but the road was wide enough that I didn't want to kill my husband :). We were dissapointed when we reached just past the half way point and they had closed the rest of the... More

Our first visit to Pike's Peak (in the 90's) was by the cog railway. I didn't know what we were missing! This trip, we drove up Pike's Peak Highway. You definitely have to take your time, but you WANT to take your time, because the views are just beautiful. You will want to stop multiple times driving up and down... More

Went up Pikes Peak on the cog railway. Lovely ride through pretty scenery. But pick your timing carefully. The weather at the summit is very changeable, and by the time we got to the top it was covered in cloud and there was a snow blizzard! As the train started down, the cloud cleared, and we had some fantastic views... More

Great views, plenty of spots to stop for pictures, and great gift shop at the top. Tip: bring a scarf, hoodie, etc to protect your ears from the wind - it is wicked at 14,000 feet! Also if you drive try to arrive before the train does - the lines for food/bathroom/cash register get incredibly long once everyone gets there. More

I went up Sunday on my Ducati, very fun drive and easy on the moto with climbing and braking. Views are amazing all along the drive up and down, lots of places to pull off and take pictures. It was a little more work for me as I had to remove the seat each time to get to my camera... More
