We tried to go fishing there last summer. The canal next to the lake was very long with standing water. The bugs were unbearable. Never did find a good fishing place because of weeds. The high light was Eagles and nest.

Barr lake is a fun place to visit with the kids.Go to the nature center and they have crafts and MANY things to explore.This is one of the Colorado state parks that have a family backpack program.You just go to the desk,ask for a backpack and it is free to use for the day.There is a playground,boat launch,LOTS of birds(including...
