If you are going through or to Stockton, don't miss the Haggin Museum! It is located in Victory Park on Pershing Avenue. The permanent exhibits such as the beautiful paintings of Bierstadt and the collection of Lyendecker art are just a couple of examples of why this museum is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums. They always have interesting... More

Excellent collection of art for it's size. There are recreations of gold-rush era locations. A nice place to go with larger kids. The grounds are beautiful, with pic nic areas and seasonal concerts in the park. Larger, more "sophisticated" cities could take a que from The Haggin.

It was simple and unassuming inside, easy to navigate, and had cool bits of CA. History I wouldn't have otherwise seen anywhere. With all of Stockton's faults today, it DOES have a rich history for the state of California, which we all know and love.

This is a wonderful museum that should be on anyone's list who live in the central valley. Wonderful art, historic tractors, and a Willies jeep that had been bought by students of Stockton High during WWII. Downstairs relive the good old days of Stockton.

At the time they were displaying art work from children from various elementary schools in the area. They apprear to have events throughout the year to encourage children learn and enjoy the history of Stockton and California, particularly the norther area. They also had a very interesting gift shop with appropriate and interesting items.

This museum is a combination art museum and museum of local history. Located on some beautiful local grounds. It is a Stockton treasure (and frankly there aren't many of those). I especially like the exhibits about Stockton's history especially as it relates its history as an inland port and a center of agriculture. Parking is on the street but its... More

The Haggin Museum in Stockton sits in the center of Victory Park, one of the city's biggest parks. It is close to I-5 so if you are travelling from North California going South to Los Angeles vice versa, the best thing to do is exit Pershing Ave. and a feet away you will find this old structure which houses Historical...
