We went to the Discovery Museum today with our 5 & 7 year old boys. Staff were friendly, lots of clean restrooms, and spread out enough for the kids to get some exercise while exploring. They loved the Bay Hall and outdoor areas especially. This is definitely geared toward young kids (2-7) and older kids would likely be bored. We... More

This is an ok kids museum-- does not compare AT ALL to the kids museum in San Jose in that it is very "rustic" and not polished, and offers far less. For older kids, the Exploratorium in SF is MUCH better--- it too is kind of rustic. But, the Exploratorium seems to have a lot more. This museum seems like... More

What could be better than taking a boat (ferry) to charming Sausalito and finding the greatest, cleanest, most engaging kids museum ever at the foot of the golden gate bridge! Even in foggy weather, it was tremendous! More

We visited on a Sunday in early September. The crowd wasn't bad. The facility is a mix of indoor and outdoor so it is better to pick a nice weather day. The view of the adjacent Golden Gate is unbeatable. However the museum itself is fairly small. Just a few display and a playground. If your child is 2 then... More

This place is cute for young ones. Although the day we went, it was a bit chilly and overcast - the kids (8 yo, 4 yo and 7 mos) enjoyed exploring. Next time we go, we'll need to make sure it's a clear day with sunshine to enjoy the outdoor activities to the fullest. There are spots to see the... More

This is one of those places you can take young children and it keeps them and you engaged. Very young child friendly including wide open outdoor, fenced areas where they can run safely. My two children (under 4) were wowed for longer than any other venue - many young children's places are a bit boring for parents, not this one.... More

We took advantage of the FREE admission for adults and kids on the first Wednesday of the month on March 03, 2011 and what a treat it was for our 3-year-old. We showed up around 9:00 am, which is opening time, and we were the fourth car in the parking lot. Parking is free and is located right in front... More

This is a wonderful place for toddlers and slightly older kids to play! I took my 3 year old and my 1 year old to the museum on one of the "free" days and it was super easy to find parking, and both had a blast. It was very crowded due to it being a free admission day but we... More

We had a blast. This place had the usual terrific well thought out children's exhibits. Toddler crawling tactile area, hands on nature exhibits. I actaually learned some stuff about our local fauna. They also had a visit that day of live animals. Got to touch a real baby alligator, albino burmease python (8 feet of yellow!), and lots of other... More
