I recently visited the park for the first time after living in the area for over 20+ years. The park is old but well taken care of and clean. The Roller Coasters here are just plain boring and outdated, they have a new wooden coaster but it was not open to the public. Lines to the thrill rides are the... More

FYI .... parent rider swap is available at Great America! It works like at Disneyland. One parent waits in line and rides. When the parent gets off the ride you swap with the parent waiting with the child. The other parent goes in the fast pass entrance and does not have to wait in line. A great benefit to families... I really liked at lot of the rides in this park! The scariest is of course the best ones! The Xtreme Skyflyer is worth the $17 extra. And if you are a group I would suggest the Fast Lane tickets. They are a little bit expensive, but I hate long lines ($ 30-50 on top of regular ticket depending on... More

Numerous thrill rides are available to satisfy the adventurous spirit of tweens and teens. The rides look relatively safe and they do observe the height limits that they impose on specific rides. Young kids will also find some kiddie rides in Kidsville and Planet Snoopy. Unfortunately, my kids are no longer familiar with the Peanuts Gang so they didn't exactly... More

This amusement park has a water park in it. Get there early to get a lounge chair because it gets crowded fast. The lines can be long and tiresome in the heat, so once again, get there early when the park opens.

Great America theme park is really a fun place with lots of thrill rides, mild rides and kids rides.. But there are very few water rides. Ride is for for a very short time a minute or even less, it will get over before you feel the actual thrill or fear . One time ticket is really expensive, instead season... More

A great and safe place to bring teens. Everyone goes through metal detectors and bags undergo a search. Security will not let you bring in your own food or drinks - forcing you to buy food inside or go out to the parking lot to eat lunch. The best deal is a large refillable cup for $9. We bought ONE... If you ever want to feel young again than this is the place to go. It's just as I remembered during my younger days but better. The rides have been updated to more daring ones with a few of your favorites still up and running. Highly recommend going!

The group rate (15 or more) is wonderful and should be taken advantage of whenever possible. Feed the kids prior to entering. Food and even water are extremely costly with Subway in the park the best food deal, though choice is limited. Encourage them to leave backpacks, IPods, sweaters, etc. in the car so they don't get in the way... More
