“Worth a visit; helpful research room”

Located in a former Carnegie Library building adjacent to the mission, space here is quite limited but is used very effectively. The exhibits are eye-catching, informative and professionally mounted. The research room downstairs is open on a limited basis. I got a friendly welcome and the help I needed during a family history research visit. More

“Very interesting historical exhibits”

The current exhibit is about several SLO families from the early days. It's a fascinating personal look at life in the 19th century and a family's relationships with the community. More

So this museum is small because its in the old Carnegie Library, but its exhibits are very interesting. If you area a tourist this museum is an excellent way to learn about local SLO history.
