Great Joan Brown retrospective exhibit (unfortunately, not part of permanent holdings). Neat computer inspired art installations. Wonderful blending of old and new architecture.

They always have an exhibit worth visiting, a cafe with great food, and an incredible gift shop with well-chosen items. There is also art from the permanent collect to see, and of course the magnificent Gihooly Chandeliers gracing the entrance.

San Jose art Museum has some very interesting exhibits. If you love art this medium sized museum is not to be missed. They have some clever shows. Even though I live very close to downtown San Jose, I don't get there often enough. I especially enjoy this museum because it's small and they usually have at least one exhibit that's a bit controversial. It's nice to be able to look at everything in a couple of hours.

Very friendly staff. Small collections, and not great value for the admission price. Not a great selection of exhibits. Clean facility, however. Good accessibility for handicap accommodations.

This museum will delight you! There are numerous excellent exhibits throughout the year with lots of space in which to roam. The docents are helpful or one can go it alone and use written guides for information.
The Cafe is in the original museum which I've been told was a post office before that! The food has been consistently fair....
