When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is the greatest race track in the best area of California! A must visit location. The world famous “ Corkscrew “ is a great place to watch from. The paddock access is also great being so close to all the teams.

The a gorgeous track with incredible views. You can see most of the track from numerous vantage points. Some of paths up the hill are dusty and it is easy to slip. Would like to see the track pave these and create steps. Also bathrooms could use modernizing. Speaker system is good and you can generally hear the announcers.

Staff in our chalet was terrific. Food was OK. Location has a good view. Lots of restrooms close by as well. Could use fans or portable AC as it can get very hot. Overall facility is very nice. Good venue to watch a race

Loved everything about LaGuna Seca outside of the fact that they need to get a ride share lot on the premises for events. Trying to get a Lyft or Uber in to pick you up proved to be quite difficult as there is no designated spot and the venue is very large. We were able to get it done a couple times but both were an adventure!

Motorsport is my favourite sport, so when I happen to be near a circuit I like to visit it. And how couldn’t I visit Laguna Seca, with its legendary Corkscrew? It’s possible to walk on the whole perimeter of the circuit. A little tip for future visitors: this area is very hot, so bring water with you and wear a hat!

I am finally getting around to all the tracks I have been to over the last few years. So apologies for not writing earlier. This is such a famous and fun track. The proximity to Monterey coast line just makes it that much better. I have been to this track many, many times over the last 3 years. It is a challenging track but my Boxster S loves it. Traffic in and out of the track can be a bit difficult depending on the beach traffic but still well worth it. They do have a campsite but I have never availed myself of that option. Instead I stay in Monterey or some of the surrounding cities and enjoy the ocean.

Supervised track days are available with serious instructional programs, but even the local public has a few chances a year to take laps around the track after contributing to a charity, which today was the Santa Cruz Symphony. After a brief instructional meeting, cars are grouped behind a guide car and negotiate the track at modest speeds, but you soon learn that driving this track is more difficult than it looks!

Practical advice for visitors = Highway 68 entrance has better access to areas, compared to rear entrance on Reservation Road towards Marina. Book any camping well in advance, as it sells out. food services are reasonable, but picnics are welcome. Some premier parking areas sell out long in advance. General parking is in the sandy areas on the side of the hills, and motorcycles frequently fall over, and there is not ground clearance for exotic cars. Without special parking, drive something old that will not mind a thick coating of dust. WEAR GOOD WALKING SHOES, as you will trek for miles a day. Dress in layers for the famous fog.
Living nearby, my family took me to the first car race in 1958, and I have gone most every year since to some event. The facility was donated by the US Army to a local charity group, who have sucked out almost one billion dollars for local charities, but the facility has not kept pace with world standards, and those important events can no longer be held at this venue, for safety and marketing reasons. All things go full circle with time, and now the track hosts more local events. This is nice for local people, but the days of big crowds that bring big dollars to the charities are gone. Biggest event is now the mid- August historic car demonstration races.

Hi John,
Thank you for your thoughtful and informative review. We are happy to hear that you've been attending our events and visiting the track for some time now.
In addition to The Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion in August, we are excited to have IndyCar back again to run their championship-ending season finale race in September, following the IMSA SportsCar Championship. We hope to see you at one of our upcoming events this summer.

Staying in nearby Monterey and hubby had to see this place in the flesh. As a speedway and race fan it's a must. We arrived a Saturday morning just as classic cars were leaving. Allowed to park up and walk the track . Got as far as the famous corkscrew bend. Took a lot of pictures. He showed me you tube footage so I could share in his excitement.

Great experience to watch races at this fantastic racetrack, good action at legendary corkscrew for both motorcycles and cars. If you get a chance join for a track walk, elevation change is crazy. Would love to come here for a motorcycle track day

Parking is free with admission.
The $100 special parking is for people like me who have a sports car and don't want to park in the dirt/grass areas. The special parking is a paved area right next to the track.
But if you are visiting from out of town, you'll either be renting a car, using a rideshare (Uber, Lyft) or possibly taking a bus depending on where your hotel is and it which nearby city.
I've taken the MST Transit bus from Salinas and Monterey when I didn't want to drive and deal with the traffic. You have a lot of options available. I hope that helps. ~ Bruce

Hi guys, any cheap hotel near to the track?
WeatherTech Rac... L

There are plenty of reasonably priced hotels located in and around Monterey county! We also may suggest renting an RV from Family RV and camping with us. They even deliver to the track!

I see two prices for premier pit row seats- $599 and $749. What's the difference?

Sorry I do not know the reason why there 2 prices quoted for pit lane seats as I am fortunate to have a very close relationship with Wayne Taylor Racing which allows me to have access to all locations!!

Check out the map online and when you enter the track there will be a guide that sends you in the direction of your grandstand to park. Once you are in you can walk anywhere you please.

Bonjour,

Hello Lucile, to take your car on the track you will want to contact one of the track rental organizations that host Track Day events. They can be found on our calendar on the website and they host cars on track and handle the insurance.

Hi we would like to attend this race the first weekend of May but are not sure if we should get the 3 day pass or just one day, and if just one, which day is best? Also, are there other events associated with this that we should try to attend/do?
Thank you

It depends on what you want to do. Getting the 3 day pass gives you the option to see a bit each day, if you like; it can get fairly sunny & warm at the track and there isn't much shade. The main races are on Sunday; other races and practice sessions are Friday and Saturday. There is generally food available at the track but no real restaurants, just more or less "temporary" food stands at trackside prices, some with seating, some not. There are many restaurants ion the Peninsula, some are even fairly good, about 10 minutes away, traffic depending. You also might want to bring ear protectors, as some sessions can be pretty loud! As for other goings-on in May you might want to check the calendar of events for Monterey County or the Chamber of Commerce. There's always something going on but much depends on your interests- music, food/wine, special events, and of course the Monterey Museum of Art, the Pacific Grove Natural History Museum, the Monterey Aquarium (always interesting exhibits, which change from time to time) and local scenery like 17 mile drive, Carmel (shopping!), the seashore at Asilomar/PG.Monterey. and Point Lobos State Park; be sure to visit Pt. Lobos, just south of Carmel if you haven't been there before. and some 35 miles south on Highway 1, Big Sure state Park, with the River Inn that serves reasonably good food. As for motels you'll have to figure that one out on your own; too many to list- but reserve in advance if you don't want to wind up in some fleabag motel or at the Royal Big Spender Suite somewhere. If you can't find something fun to do on the Monterey Peninsula, you're very hard to please (sorry!).
Best of luck & enjoy your stay!
Cheers,
Rich

I cannot help you. If you do not know the area it could be a good base to enjoy all the surrounding sites at a reasonable cost. Is nearby to Monterey, Carmel and Big Sur.
