Like all of their wines, the Cabernet Sauvignon “1886” is produced from grapes grown on their esteemed terroir on the western bench just north of St. Helena. The farming adheres to biodynamic principles and practices, and 100% of the vineyards are certified organic. Call the winery ahead to reserve your tasting. « less

We discovered this wonderful winery decades ago, when it was called Ehlers Grove. Their beautiful, honey-colored, historic stone barn beckoned us away from the congested St Helena highway, and we were hooked by the charm, at least. It has gone through some transitions since then, all leading up to the latest incarnation, which is nothing short of amazing. Ehlers Estate... More

just love this place. We booked for a chocolate and wine tasting. At first we thought 10am chocolate/ wine tasting might have been a little much - we were wrong. the experience was SPECTACULAR. just love the philosophy of the winery (non-profit), the quality of the wine, and the tasting experience. Highly recommend this to anyone.

I did not know it but they recommend you make an appointment to taste their wines. I arrived without an appointment and since there was just one other person in the tasting room I was welcomed. I really liked the history of the place and the stone building in which the tasting room is located. That structure was once the... More

We started outside with a picnic lunch and moved into the tasting room. They have a really lovely story about the history of the vineyard. Wine was great, and they are happy to go into as much detail about the bouquet as you would like. We brought our 80lb dog and they treated him with as much respect as they... More

Everything about this winery was wonderful. I especially liked the 120/80 wine which some of the percentages goes to cardiology research. Our sommeiler was very knowledgeable about all of the wines that we tasted. We felt very comfortable and not pressured. I highly recommend it.

We thoroughly enjoyed lunch and a game of bocce ball here this past August. The wines were nice, but the tasting experience was very forced. Our host seemed to want to impart his opinions of the wine on us during the entire tasting, which turned us off a bit from the wine. It was a great building and wonderful story, so... More

This is a lovely winery! The wines are fantastic and Niki, the young lady that was helping us was a delight. The winery in a non for profit with all proceeds going to charity for heart health research. A must go too winery, my review can't do it justice!

I completely agree with the other reviewers' comments about Ehlers. The estate is beautiful, including the old stone building, but the service was poor and the wine was average. We had a reserved, comfy tasting area with a couch, but our server would disappear to another group, then return for awkward feedback. The expensive cab in the Parisian bottle is... More
