Very green park right in the middle of Sacramento downtown area. Even on a hot sunny day, this place feels nice and cool with trees all around. The 2 rose gardens are also very pretty with lots of rose varieties. I took my parents here when they came to visit and my mom absolutely loved the rose gardens.

I ate an orange that fell off the tree in front of me. It was fantastic! The meandering pathways and memorials are very nice. Watch out for squirrels!

While pounding the pavement and checking out all the history in downtown/Old Town Sacramento, give your dogs a rest in the Capitol Park. Shady, well kept, and a minimum of pan handlers makes this a good spot to relax before continuing your adventures.

Wonderful park heavily used for walking and running. Diverse plants and large trees; much shade; delightful place to hang out and watch people and squirrels. Many monuments to the contributions of Californians to our State and Nation. Nice rose garden.
