I've lived here for 19 years. When we first moved here old sac and k street mall were fun. now there are cobwebs all over the walls and light fixtures, transients wandering around and people loudly discussing inappropriate material for family ears. Lots of swearing and inappropriate behavior from people walking around. I swear too but in the right place!... More

definately a must see with the "old west" style. restaurants and "saloons" looked great but no time to eat. when we return will definately try the Firehouse which has high ratings.

Always a fun day trip, don't forget to stop buy the Rio City Cafe, for a relaxing cocktail by the river .

Very touristy stores for the most part; still fun to walk around and see all the old buildings. Lots of places to stop and grab a bite to eat. You can ride on a horse and wagon around the cobblestone streets.

In town for business and rode my bike to old town and then a pleasant walk through the streets. There are a good variety of restaurants and stores. Keep in mind lots of candy stores for little ones.

We'd been through and around Sacramento before, but hadn't stopped long enough to visit the Old Sacramento area. A business trip brought us there and walking through it was a charming and lovely surprise. Along the river, and for a few blocks the charm and character was apparent. Lots of shops and small restaurants gave it a vibrancy for both... More

Though there are a few nice restaurants, and an abundance of candy and ice cream shops, for the most part Old Sacramento has become quite commercial, drifting away from its historic roots, and seems to be attracting more and more low brow clientele. It used to be a more fun family place but we don't care to visit there as... More

You only need about 3- 4 hours to visit this area of Sacramento. It has lots of great shops and restaurants and the tourist trap stores that sell tee-shirts and candy. A couple of things that stand out are The Railroad Museum for a great look back at the trains of yesteryear. Also they have underground tours that tell you... More
