Sometimes truckers are just left to sit there and wait. Not these guys, they unloaded and reloaded us in no time at all.

Please don't tell any of my Air Force pals I said that ;-) We stayed space A since I'm retired. Very courteous staff, we called & she got us right into the best room we've ever had for one night. Temporary lodging with a garage! Immaculate with full kitchen & master bedroom. One block away from a park with a... More

Navy's premir design and test range for air to air and air to ground missiles, test F18's, etc. The Navy owns 4 million acres of desert and the Coso Range mountains. Museum on base. Since 1942.

as a retired navy man, I was able to stay at a very good motel on base. Everyone was friendly and helpful. There was a super museum on base that anyone could visit. It told the history of many of the Naval missiles with many interesting displays

Not really a tourist stop but the Naval Aviation Museum is within its boundaries. Check ahead of time, it may be open only to American citizens. It covers more than the state of Rhode Island.

I'm biased because we've lived here for many years but we obviously love it. Best attraction at China Lake other than the ancient Indian Petroglyphs is the Naval Museum of Armament and Technology, a true rocket science museum full of rockets, bombs, and missiles used since WWII launched from aircraft, surface ships and submarines

I moved to Ridgecrest and worked at the Naval Weapons Center for a year. I would not take anything for the experience I got while there. The scenery, the people and everything were all different from anything I had ever experienced. I liked the fact that if you got tired of the desert that you could drive up in the... More
