Lovely stop! Great little area that protects and counts the monarchs. We go every time we are in the area. It is worth the stop if you are in the area.

There were less butterflies this year than last, but it was still amazing to see the butterflies hanging amongst the branches disguised as leaves! Thankfully there were volunteers there to answer questions and share a telescope!

This little spot of sunshine in Pismo Beach is one of my favorite places to take visitors. The docents are full of information and give very interesting talks.

We've visited the Butterfly Grove a couple of times. Butterflies fill the trees, and if you're patient will flutter all around you.

When the butterflies are in season, it's a fascinating spectacle! Volunteer docents provide great information. There is a mile long boardwalk next to the beach which runs adjacent to the butterfly grove. The grove isn't large - maybe 2 acres, but it's beautiful & free!

Lot of butterfly and amazing to know their facts. They also had info sessions which helped understand about butterflies.

Drove past it twice - it's a little tricky to spot! Although the monarchs were pretty much gone by the time we got there the grounds are lovely and it was the perfect place to hike and explore. We did spot about three monarchs and there were lots of flowers and herbs to learn about. A definite 'must-do' if the... More

This time of year the Monarch Butterflies stop in Pismo Beach to feast on the tender leaves in the eucalyptus grove next to the beach and highway 1. Great volunteer docents are there to give the history of the migration. Bring the kids and the dogs as the trail through the grove leads to the beach. Another of the reasons... More
