What is a celebration without champagne? The only French winery up here, you can go posh and get Crystal (though make sure to hold it so it can taste the way it should) or enjoy one of the regular vintages now. The basic brut is excellent and a good value. There is a tasting fee, but it includes their still... More

A short drive from Cloverdale along a quaint windy road. We were warmly greeted by Buzz (sparkling/tasting room extraordinaire) who offered to introduce us to their wonderful varieties of bubbly delights. We purchased a bottle to enjoy with our picnic out in their terrace on a beautiful sunny day. Well worth the drive, we'll look forward to another visit and... More

Best champagne ever made! A quick drive from Ukiah, can't wait to taste my purchase! The grounds have beautiful views of the valley.

Take in the lovely grounds, if your not into having a whole tasting, they will let you just try the few you want without charging.

My wife and I visited the Roederer Estate during a trip through the Anderson Valley. This was by far our favorite wine tasting of the trip - and that includes a few stops in Sonoma too. Ok, so maybe I'm a bit biased because bubbles are our favorite wine, but it still was an excellent visit. The site is beautiful,... More

Roederer has a beautiful facility high on the hill - the views over the valley were wonderful. We stood at the counter talking to a very nice lady for 30 or 40 minutes enjoying both still and sparking wines. When our tasting was complete, she asked if we would like to purchase a glass of wine to enjoy on the... More

We called ahead and had a tour set up as this was to be the highlight of our trip to Anderson Valley. We showed up and the winery is beautiful but understated; it fit perfectly into the atmosphere of a quiet wine vally. We came during the offseason so they weren't too busy but even so they were especially gracious.... More

At Roederer we sampled several including the Brut NV, Brut Rose and L'Ermitage Brut and Rose. They have a great little cheat sheet on the names of the bottles - Jeroboam (4 bottles) all the way up to Balthazar and Nebuchadnezzar, 16 and 20 bottles, respectively) as well as wine trivia.

There are some good points and bad points. On the plus side, the winery itself is very nice with a great staff. Unfortunately, their license doesn't allow you to enjoy a glass of wine (re:no patio) so tastings are the only activity allowed. They do, however, have a magnum wine club that can be joined. This place is worth a... More
