Not just the artwork, but well designed. Nice use of natural lighting in the center. Rooms effectively use different themes. If you do art museums a must if you are in the area.

You are on the huge Stanford Campus and this gem of a museum holds wonderful treasures....the Serra outdoor sculpture is a must and a great counter point to their incredible Rodin collection...the American Indian collection is phenomenal as is the Asian art galleries....where you could easily spend a whole day...But the most fun is the 2nd floor with contemporary art...easy... GO! It's a small place but a great little detour while visiting the Stanford Campus or Palo Alto for business. Take an hour and walk the museum and have lunch at the cafe (which is excellent).

The permanent collections are worth a visit, but the temporary exhibits are the real draw. The museum is world-famed for its Rodin collection.

Wide open space full of artwork that is spaced so you can admire and appreciate without being stepped on by others, A quit mood so you can reflect on each, and enjoy the beauty in silence and just meditate while appreciating each exhibit.
