Can't really say on the camping, but as a place to stop for a while and relax with a nice walk around the lake area watching people picnicking and fishing and relaxing.. it was great. Nice and picturesque, a nice find on the way to Idyllwild, from Palm Springs.

Its a shame you can't go in the lake! the fishing is ok from what I hear, the camping is not the greatest. The site are small and people tend to walk right through your camp to get to the bathroom. FYI, only one bathroom so expect to wait a while

I enjoy camping in the Idyllwild area from time to time. It is a great way for my young brother and I to bond. Normally we pack some coolers, grab some wood, grab our stuff and just drive. We like to find a yellow post site (no running water, no hook-ups, nothing) out in the middle of nowhere and set-up... More

it's a beautiful lake an hour from palm desert and provides camping and fishing all year round. it's especially nice on a summer evening when it's 110 in the desert.

It's a small lake that you can fish in. If you have an RV it is a good place to go to get away from the heat during the summer

One of our first camping trips in our RV was to Hurkey Creek Campground located just east of Idyllwild near Lake Hemet. Unfortunately on that trip we found out we had generator problems, so moved across Highway 74 to Lake Hemet Campground about a mile away. We were fortunate to obtain a full hookup site with a view of the... More

This is a privately managed park, and it's a nice weekend campsite to get out of the desert heat. It does get hot here in the summer, but it's the only real fishing in these parts!
