We just managed to sneak in before closing, but it really doesn't take much time at the small museum/lighthouse. Our three boys did get to participate in the flag retreat ceremony since we were there during closing and they will never forget that aspect. Docents were very nice and friendly and full of information.

We walked over to the lighthouse from our downtown location including a little stop over in the nearby cemetary. There is a recommended "donation" amount for entry to the lighthouse. The woman at the front desk welcomed us and gave us a little information about the lighthouse and the keepers - including some women that were keepers at this location.... More

This is a lovely little spot on the coast housing the historic Point Pinos Lighthouse. Lots to see and learn in the small building, thanks to the excellent exhibits and helpful docents. Well worth a visit; be sure to check the operating hours before you go, as they are a bit limited.

This was another off the beaten track site we visited in Carmel, and was very worth it. There's a suggested donation of $2/person and it doesn't take long to look around at the actual lighthouse (although it can take longer depending on how long the guides talk). The lighthouse rooms are small, of course, and there are several interesting displays... More

A small but well kept early California bit of history. Easy to access with a short walk. Curators loved their work and were very helpful in answering questions about the lighthouse and local history. Very complete museum in the building under the lighthouse where the keeper of the light used to live with his family. The large Fresnel lens is... More

I expect to see a very tall lighthouse, especially being from Maine where we have an abundance of them, but this one sits up high on a hill and not right on the water where you expect them to be. It is only open a limited number of hours Thursday through Monday. The docent is very knowledgeable and interesting to... More

This beautifully maintained lighthouse is worth a trip The setting, surrounded by the Pacific Grove municipal golf course, is a real treat. It is set back from the water and affords a great view of Monterey Bay.

This lighthouse isn't on many peoples' radar, but it should be. The docent is knowledgeable & friendly. The lighthouse gives a glimpse of life for the keeper, a single woman. This is quite unusual. The views from the lighthouse & environs is gorgeous. In the basement there's a mini museum with another volunteer docent. A thoroughly enjoyable stop.

A small gem. Lovingly restored lighthouse. Great historical and scientific displays. Take 30 -60 minutes to enjoy.

We didn't even realize there was a lighthouse at the end of Lighthouse Avenue! It's small but historic and worth the stop. $2/adults, $1/children, very worth it. The docents were friendly and knowledgeable. Limited hours (1 - 4 pm when we were in town).
