The trails are very well marked. The views are spectacular and the wildflowers beautiful. There is a $3 fee (honesty box) at the trail head. The visitor center is small but has some preserved animal specimens, nice restrooms, and sometimes an art exhibit. The rangers have always been friendly and informative. They do offer ranger programs- the calender is online. Trails are well maintained and visibly marked. There are rough terrain areas that would make stroller traffic difficult. We use a carrier. A beautiful area. Highlights include a short easy hike to see flowers and shallow ponds (in Spring) and hiking to see the remains of old Spanish land grant cattle ranch, including old adobe house. More
