I used to live in Monterey and loved going to the Farmers Market on Tuesdays and Thursdays downtown. I had the opportunity to go back and visit and it is just the same as I remember. Wonderful food, fresh fruit and vegetables and lots of vendors with local unique art and jewelry to choose from.

This is a well supported Farmers' Market in the heart of Monterey. It's well worth visiting to experience local atmosphere, and mingle with the locals. The produce generally appears to be of excellent quality. Well worth visiting!

We go to this market almost every week. The Indian food cart is really good and always has samples so you can try the different dishes they serve. We buy a lot of our produce here. TUESDAY NIGHT ON ALVARADO Still one of the best farmers' markets I've even seen. I live in Florida now and there in nothing even remotely comparable down here. All the fruits & veggies here are GMO from industrial farms. So I am always very happy to be in Monterey on a Tuesday!

Being out of town, I didn't go to buy but to take pictures. Such visual stimulation for the camera with all the different colors of fruits, vegetables and flowers....worth a LOOK.

Fresh Produce straight from the farm. The strawberries smelled so sweet. There were so many vendors with so many different veggies and fruit. Then there were those who sold art and crafts. I have changed my monthly work visit to Monterey to Tuesday just to visit this market. Great example of typical nor cal market but larger and in a location that can't be beat. Fresh fruits and veggies and lots of other foods to try too. Arts and crafts too.Everyone was friendly and the kids enjoyed it. Our hotel manager told us about it. Great way to end our first day in Monterey.

Heard about the Farmer's Market from our hotel concierge. Several streets in Monterey are blocked off on Tuesday afternoons. Numerous fresh food to eat, produce, jewelry, artwork. Lots of fun. Great crowd. Definitely worth the experience.
