Loved the map and easy guided drive. Pebble beach and the Lone Cypress were my favorites! Not all of the stops are worthwhile but you can make the trip as long as you like. Ours took about 3 hours. Pebble beach was so relaxing!

The 17-Mile Drive is a must if you are in the Monterey/Pacific Groves/Carmel area. Take a camera. Take your time. Take it all in. Take the Carmel Gate, park and walk around. Fabulous and Beautiful!
$9.75 for entering 17 mile drive. The views are spectacular. The houses along the way are gorgeous. Bring a picnic. Wear walking shoes. Get out often car at one of the beaches and walk around and have lunch. Best views!
We drove from the Pacific Grove gate to Carmel exit and then on the eastern side back later in the day. There's a fee to get on the road and then your receipt will get you back on that same day, after you wander off the drive.
We saw a variety of sea otters resting on the rocks, beautiful rock...

My wife and I took the 17-Mile Drive while taking a day trip down the Pacific Coast during our trip to San Francisco. You begin the tour by paying the entrance fee at the gate to Pebble Beach. The guard will give you a tour brochure showing 21 different highlights and potential stops throughout the drive. The tour route is...

We grabbed sandwiches from Compagno's on the way to the 17-mile drive, planning to pic nic somewhere along there, or @ Point Lobos Reserve, if we made it that far. We had no idea how awesome our itinerary was! Compagno's is the best deli we have EVER visited. I will review separately but just know that if you want to...

I loved all the spots to sit, stand, explore, and take pictures along the coast. Its so beautiful! I also liked all the really cool houses along the way.
17 Mile Drive is a wonderful excursion. The homes along the roadway are as interesting as the seascape. We had to do it in both directions to take in everything. Pebble Beach golf course is in the middle of the drive and makes for a nice place to get out and look around. The doormen at the club are very...

The view of the bay was magnificent. Fabulous houses along the way as well. We are also golf fanatics and took in the views of many of the golf courses along the way. The highlight of the day for us was visiting the magnificent Pebble Beach Golf Course where so many champion golfers have played. We visited the pro shop...

Having driven down to Cambria from SF before coming to Monterey I had already seen some amazing coastline with sheer cliffs, giant elephant seals, even a random zebra, so maybe it is better if this is the only scenery-looking you plan on doing. I just don't get the appeal of paying for this drive. If you eat at Roy's you...
