montara point lighthouse is a fanastating step back in time. The keepers old house and garden and light house and old building is in a world of its own. And the views of the ocean and coastlne are unforgettable. Always wear layers here, as the weather is changeabe and rememeber you are on the edge of the ocean! More

Pt. Montara Lighthouse is charming and worth photographing even if you don't stay in the hostel (really nice staff tries to arrange families together, etc. Just ask...) It is 6 min. south of Pacifica, next door to the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve tidepools. Its tiny lighthouse is situated on a tall bluff. It was a light station originally, and has evolved... More

This is a beautiful place. Our timing was off, we could only walk around the lighthouse due to the renovation. There is a Hostel next to the lighthouse which looked nice, not our thing, but something to think about. If you are headed down HWY1 it's worth a quick stop. More

Visited in Winter, however amazing location at the lighthouse. Rooms a little uncomfortable. Try the Moss Beach Distillary down the road More

We stayed Aug 5th 2004. I rate this high because of the property. Hostels are not for everyone. This is not like a hotel. Our stay included/Comments: Private room, Q/Twin bunk w/ adjacent shared bathroom, laundry, shared kitchen with utensils, very basic lodgings (may want to call hostel to find out hostelling rules and guidelines to see if it is...
