There is a beautiful drive in to the beach and the views are spectacular. There is lots of hiking trails and camping available. I love to walk on the beach, pickup rocks and watch the ocean. Very peaceful. More

This is a lovely state park just a couple of miles outside of town. There are easy hikes in the hills and to the ocean. More

Beautiful section of the coast that is undeveloped and with miles of hiking trails and some excellent beach area. Good for people who want to get out of their car and put their legs to good use. More

We did a night trip and although we couldn't see everything it was cool. Even saw a group of deer. Take the side road that goes to a parking lot for a good view of the bay/lights at night. More

Many coves great for wandering and beach combing. Horse back riding could be fun. More

There are some of the best views driving out to Montana de Oro State Park. Also some great little trails to hike...some toward the ocean and some back toward the mountains. The beach is sometimes pretty crowded on a beautiful day. More

M de Oro has something for everyone. Easy bluff walks w/ stunning views, miles of uninterrupted beachwalking (Hazard Canyon), sheltered walks by a creek (Coon Creek), a Stonehenge, bike and horseback riding trails...and so much more. We live by the entrance to the park, and still haven't explored all its' wonders. More

The walk along the Bluffs trail will shred your socks with one view after another knocking them off. Bring your camera, I guarantee you'll have enough pictures for an entire issue of National Geographic when you get home. BTW, it's an easy hike, so you couch potatoes out there, put down that beer and remote and go watch a real,... More

This out-of-the-way gem surpasses any description I could give. It has everything! The bluff trail (easy walking with views of the blowhole and waves crashing on the fingers of rock), Coralina Cove (great tide pooling!), Valencia Peak, Coon Creek trail, the Sand Spit, Hazard Canyon, and now Pt. Buchon. Don't overlook the many wildflowers, shore birds, even snakes. (I was... More
