Fun and interesting things to see, with a great gift shop. Give yourself 15-40 minutes. The gift shop has a great collection of books. The visitor's center is a nice little museum, and it's free!

Hike the rim trail to get the birds eye eye first, easy enough for all, but it is hot so take water. Not wheelchair accessible, take pics of the tuftas, then drive to Navy beach to get an up close look. Look for the hidden hot pocket on the side.... when you leave the visitor center take a right, go...

A perfect stop along the 395 drive to Reno area, with spectacular views of Mono Lake. It has a terrific bookstore and gift shop and nice exhibits, lots of birdwatching opportunities.
Very good info and historic presentation and great views. There are also several trails that start from the center.
This information centre is easy to find and visit if you are driving. The exhibits include geological displays and a magnificent example of an endangered species from the area (you will have to visit to find out what this is! There are lots of brochures available and friendly staff to assist you. Additionally, there is a great little souvenir shop...

Just stopped for a few minutes on our way out of June Lake. Lots of information. Great view of the lake; clean restrooms; nice gift shop.
You can get some good views of the lake from here. There is a small museum in the visitors center. If you are crossing by the visitor center, do stop by to catch few extra shots of Mono lake from a different angle
The weather was cool in the afternoon, and we saw a lot of deer feeding at the site. The green grass was a nice break from all the brown hills and rocks along the journey. The wooden path to the lake is a nice walk, but there are "professional" photographers at the end who have their expensive cameras pointed at...

I didn't realize how huge the Sierra Nevada Mountain range was. The visitors center has a museum and explanation of the tufas. They also have a movie center to view a short movie about the attraction.
