Loved the caverns. Total of 850 steps from starting of journey. Beautiful caverns. The narration by person is good. Beautiful lake views on the way. Saw a bear during bus tour. Definately worth seeing. Loved it. More

You ride a boat across beautiful Lake Shasta ; you ride a bus up a winding mountain road to the cavern door; you hike 800 steep steps through the cavern. Then you have to walk back down outside on the mountain trail! It is fun but seniors should be aware of the physical effort of climbing the stairs throughout the... More

I have seen plenty of caverns before and this one is lovely, though small in comparison. There are about 5 rooms the guide will walk you through, with a detailed description of the types of formations. The best part of the trip, for me, was the boat ride across the lake and the views from the bus ride up the... More

This is really cool place. HUGE cave, great tour guides. They also have a Dinner cruise that leaves from the same place. A great day adventure to go see the gives and then tour the lake while having dinner. More

My husband and I focused our trip thru CA with a visit to the Shasta Lake Caverns. I checked the internet site, we even stopped at the Discover California Centre, to ensure what and when we could visit. I sent them an email under their "contact us" website prior to the date of our planned visit. We drove all the... More

It is pricey at 24 a person. However well worth the trip. I've seen all the caves in angels camp and Murphy's. This one is far better. It's a humongous cave; I've never been in one that big. Lots of turns in the cave. Really beautiful. Yes there is a lot of walking but it was a good workout and... More

This tour starts out with a short ride by pontoon boat to the island, then a bus ride up the side of the "mountain" to the cave enterance. From there a tour guide walks you thru the beauty of the cave. Great place to escape the heat of the day. More

The bus ride to reach the entrance was not my cup of tea; the tour once we finally got there wasn't enough of a payoff. More
