We arrived here after it closed but we needed a chance to stretch our legs on the way back from Yosemite. It was interesting to walk around and look at the different trains but it would have been better if there were signs with historical information around the different cars.

This is one amazing slice of history. The trains and grounds are beautiful. I took the train ride on the steam train as well as the guided tour of the round house and shop. If you have any interest in steam trains this place is great. If you get there well before the train ride you can hear them warming... More

This is an excellent place to look back in time when people rode trains to move about. Tickets are $15 for adults for 6-mile trip, 45 minutes round-trip. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the train is old and very well kept, very clean, with musicians included. Awesome journey! -- I recommend this little attraction close to Jamestown, CA.

Great destination for families & kids. The place is full of historical trains & has some of the oldest working steam engines in the country. Old #3 is here & still working... Its the one used in " Back to the Future" & Peticoat Junction as well as several hundred other tv & movies. They run the engines on the... More

There are a lot of different engines and cars to see and ride. They have done a lot of movies and shows over the years. Really enjoyed watching the roundhouse move with train on it.

Enjoyed my visit. The round house is full of historical trains. The docent was very knowledgable. Well worth the small price of admission.

At 7 or 16, my kids love the trip out here. It was thrilling that the community was able to pull together and find a way to save the park, it is a gem in California's state park crown.

Recently we took our long term care residents to see The old trains, turn/round table and get to talk to the men that make this historic train exhibit interesting. It brought back so many memories for them. Their is a gift shop on-site where each one bought a treasure to take back and share with friends and family. We got... More

So many TV shows and movies were filmed here... Green Acres, back to the Future, so many more, and for good reason. This was the repair center for the last phase (before trucks took over from steam trains around 1915.) of steam train based logging. Glad they kept it in good shape. The roundhouse shows how things were done. The... More
