Due to budget cuts, the park and campgrounds are closed. However we parked at the base and hiked to the look out point. It was beyond gorgeous!! Breathtaking!

It is a long and hard hike to the top but it is worth taking the day to do it. You feel like you are on top of the world. You have amazing views and it a feeling of accomplishment like no other!

As of writing this review, Castle Crags State Park will officially close their gates in July 2012 due to the short-sighted budget cuts made by the California Legislature. The only way people will be legally able to see the crags is from I-5, or, from the Pacific Crest Trail, which runs through the middle of the park. With that said,...
