The sand actually has flecks of gold in it. We walked this beach over and over. It was always clean and the locals are friendly and always full of smiles. More

This was one of the nicest beach walks I've ever taken. Highlights include Hotel del Coronado (Marilyn Monroe's 'Some Like It Hot' hotel), watching pugs, boston terriers, labs, mutts etc. get hot diggity doggy at the canine beach, semi-pro sand castle builders, and sand with golden flecks along the beach. A memorable afternoon at no cost. How can you go... More

Coronado boasts the cleanest beach in San Diego. Volleyball courts and white sand. North Island is a hop away so watch the jets come in over your head on their way to land. Peaceful and family friendly. More

Not too crowded but not eerily vacant either. The beach is well maintained, with easy access to shower facilities and lovely sand. One of the best beaches on the west coast, in my humble opinion. More

This beach was wonderful. It was very easy to get to from downtown San Diego. It was clean and the sand was a soft white/black mix. There were lots of people, but because it is so big, it did not feel too crowded. Parking was easy to find on the street. More
