Mt. Lassen in the back ground only makes this lake seem all the more majestic. Beautiful country, quiet winter hike and a lot of scenery to take in. Enjoyed visiting my big brother and can see why he lives so close to the lake. More

Lake Almanor, near Chester, CA is a great vacation spot. The lake is large, seldom crowded and has good camping and boat ramps. Good family fun here! More

We head up to Chester from the North Valley several times a year. In fall we enjoy cool hikes up to Devil's Kitchen (outside of Drakesbad), in winter it's on the way to areas we like to cross country ski. The lake is beautiful, and as full as I've ever seen it, due to the amazing amount of snow last winter. There is swimming, boating, skiing, hiking, fishing, hunting, atv trails, great resorts and scenery beyond compare. Mt Lassen National Park is only 25 miles away. You can't go wrong. More
