Skip the generic Rose and the Cabs. Their Zens are very good. A porta potty is it for the bathroom. Really? If they aren't making enough money for a real bathroom, they should just close the doors. There are better zens in the area to be had, at less cost, but theirs are worth a try. They don't give credit... More

After touring elaborate castles and vast vineyards, we had time (and energy) for one more tasting. Staying in Calistoga, a local shopkeeper suggested Zahtila Vineyards. We met Michael in the tasting room and immediately felt like we were family. My daughter had just gotten a job at a nearby resort and was feeling anxious about being 3,000 miles from home.... More

that no one should miss! Greeted by Rockie the lab-collie mix that escorts you up to the tasting room where husband Mike comes in from the vinyard and talked to us for over an hour while he poured some of his amazing wines. What a great time learning and tasting. With an experience like this, I'd avoid big name pour-and-move-wineries... More

Greeted by a great dog then by the winemaker herself. Comfortable conversation learned a lot. Very nice wines and a beautiful setting. Worth the stop and the drive.

This was our 4th and last winery visit of our first day. It was a great ending! We were running about 20 mins late for our 4:30 appt (the last of the day) so we called them. They said to come in anyway. Carmen did our tasting and she was hilarious, knowledgeable and it felt like having some drinks with... More

Small output winery with superb wines only sold at the vineyard. Been to many places in Napa, Sonoma, but this was the first place I actually joined the wine club. The owner, Laura, actually poured the wines for us and provided us history behind every vintage. Fantastic wines with small production and would strongly recommend a visit. Will definitely come... We rode our bicycles to Zahtila after several recommendations. We were greeted by Rocki the sweet Lab that showed us to the tasting room. Laura was wonderful and has quite a cool way approaching everything from her life to winemaking. Some really beautiful wines. Just go and see for yourself if you want a more personal NV experience.

Carmen Meyer Tuerke , our host for the tasting was awesome, and fun. Laura's story is wonderfully romantic! And, the wines are great.

Wines were great - worth stopping by this cute little winery. Rockey, the lab on the grounds, is very friendly and likes to great the visitors.

We did not meet Laura but had a great time wine tasting with her husband. The vinyard is family owned, small and intimate. We loved the wine. Not a Rose fan? You have to try theirs!!!! I loved so much I purchased and carried home in my suit case. Enjoyed it at home on my deck last weekend and it... More
