This was a great surprise! In the Benicia State Recreation Center, there's a 1.8 acre botanic garden of mostly Solano County native plants. It's well tendd and plants are marked (fairly well) to show their latin and common names. Lovely location near the straits, picnic tables, water fountain. We had a great day! Fee to park.

Good hiking and biking close to Benicia. A great day trip area followed by a dinner or lunch downtown.

When in the Benicia area, we make time to visit this park. It's a great place to relax and take in the views of the bay. Bring a picnic - there's tables and BBQs, or bring chairs and set up near the water's edge. Take a hike, or a bike ride; there's paved as well as dirt trails running throughout...
