Petra is a must see in Jordan. I visited the site with 4 other friends on a 1 day trip. I highly recommend that you hire a guide. You can hire them at the booths soon after entering the walkway leading to the entrance. Part of the price included a horse ride. Don't bother, it is a 5 min ride... More

A must visit, take very comfortable shoes and walk up to the Monastery. Its worth the effort as the views are breathtaking.

Petra is a must see for so many reasons. The history and the scenery are amazing, but the buildings carved out of stone some 2000 years ago are truly stunning. The best part for us was the walk up to the monastery which is a solid walk up about a thousand steps, but well worth it at the end. It... More

Amazing place, but happy to go back to Israel for freedom and happiness after the oppressive islamic ambiance in Jordan.

There are hardly words to describe Petra and the photos cannot come close to doing it justice. I have visited Petra on two separate occasions and I still saw things I must have overlooked the first time. If you are on a time cramp, you can see the main sites in around 5 hours round trip. However, I would recommend... More

The day trip to Petra is amazing but is not enough to see and appreciate the whole site. I would love to go back for 2-3 days to explore further. Some of the animals did not appear to be well treated so walk to the site and back. It is worth it just to see the colours of the rock... More

Petra is a very amazing place, I learnt a lot about the Nabateos, and the landscape is really beautiful while going to the Treasury and then the Monastery. It is better to take two or three days to visit Petra and Jordan, Petra is an expensive place to visit but worth it. Jordan is very hot so March is a... More

We had an amazing 1-day tour of Petra, thanks to Clive Newton from Genesis Tourist Services (www.genesistourism.com). Clive met us at our hotel when we arrived in Eilat to go over all of the logistics of the Petra tour, as well as make other arrangements that we wanted (a dive in the Red Sea, and later in our trip, a... Pictures don't do it justice. Make sure you get a guide to explain everything to you as you go ...so much to see and learn along the way. Also go early less crowds and cooler. Loved it will hopefully go back someday

I like the people over there - they are so kind - I don't like there is no night life at night and you must have more time to see all site you need more than 3 days to finish the site
