Can you believe the natives used to shoot at these sculptural facade's? I couldn't believe my ears...but, according to our tour guide, this is true. Fortunately, these are protected sites now. The Treasury remains are magnificent, and worth the lovely trek. It was everything I expected it would be...and then some. There are literally buses and buses full of tourists.... More

If your legs aren't too tired with all the walking and stairs, I strongly recommend the hike around the back side of the Royal Palace Tomb the delivers you to the cliffs opposite the Treasury for a look-down view. Spectacular! More

The anticipation and the "peek" you get through the canyon gap as you approach. It was busy but we managed to wait and get the pictures we wanted. Met up with a gal from Virginia, US; it's that kind of place! More

But you can bargain over the price of the camel ride. Don't waste your money on the horse ride into the Wadi, and don't waste your money on the carraiges on the way out unless you're exhausted. More

This is as magical as it looks in the pictures! An exquisite building, wonderfully preserved, it suddenly comes to view as you emerge from the Siq. You won't be able to stop taking pictures of the red/orange sandstone facade as it is bathed in the middle eastern sunlight. The camels that are sitting in front of the Treasury on almost... More

The fact that the sculpturing was done 2300 years ago is just astounding, The rose colored cliff walls on which the Al-Khazna is carved is just gorgeous. The horses and donkey rides being pushed on the tourist is annoying but still worth it! More

The picture for The Treasury says it all...you turn a corner and then you see that view and the hairs on my neck stood up...it was breath taking...one of if not the most amazing place I have been to. We walked the whole length of Petra, including the 800 steps, so walking back it was late and the sun was... More
