We decided to explore Little Petra before Petra, because we had only a half day to work with. We had a car and drove North for about 30 minutes to get here. The climbing was more difficult than Petra. A huge event had been taken place here and they were in the process of removing platforms. We climbed through the... More

Most people don't go here which made it so much better because we were the only ones there at some point... It was great exploring the place without a crowd... We were there in 2010. More

Little Petra is located just 10 km from the Wadi Musa and the visit is free of charge. All you need is transport and few hours of time. One tomb there has a very beautiful paintings on its ceiling. May be it is wiser to visit it before Petra but we did it after and did not regret. More

We were almost alone here and really enjoyed exploring Little Petra. We were glad we took time out from Petra to do it. And guess what it is free. More

Our guide recommended we visit befor Petyra and he was right, it would be a dissappointment if you went afterwards. We visited during a small sandstorm which added to the atmosphere, although the steps were quite slippy as they were covered in sand. Very interesting site More

Only saw this place at night. Had dinner within a tent set up just at the base of one of the small temples. Beautiful site. More

Petra on a smaller scale. Worth a visit if you decide not to make a second entry into Petra. At the end of Litte Petra is a nice (but challenging) climb up for a view of the surrounding landscape. More
