Enjoyed the trip around the museum. A great deal of expense, time and effort has obviously been put into this and I found it most informative.

This museum is an interesting step back in time. There are several rooms of displays and write-ups explaining the opium trade and growing and production of opium for sale. Many display cases with paraphernalia, pipes, weights, etc.
Normally seen in conjunction with larger Hall of opium (government Museum). See more details of opium manufacture and the tools and equipment used. Well recommended must see. Allow 0.5-1hour.
I never understood what the opium trade was all about except that it produced heroine for drug addicts. The Opium Museum explained the history in easily understandable terms and made the whole chequered history interesting and informative, including the roll of the local hill tribes. Well worth a visit.
A beautifully designed structure and a museum of some importance telling the history of the opium trade and its influence in so many lives. Exhibits are superb. If you are visiting the Golden Triangle do not miss this attraction.

What not to dabble with is shown here. But the displays of narcotics are well dine.
While this is not a fancy museum, it is laid out nicely with lots of good insights into the opium trade. Small, you can do it in under 30 minutes.
