This is a historically very important site, well-managed by Arizona State Park system. Visit it, take it all in, let your imagination as to what life was like there centuries ago. Just please don't take any of the shards you might find, they are sacred to the modern Hopi people. More

The ruins are definitely ruins. Not much stonework left. But there's lots of pottery shards laying on the ground or placed on stones. We were really surprised at the range of colors, patterns, and textures on the pottery. The other hiking trails are difficult since it's like walking on the beach with so much sand. Cemetery is a bit small,... More

This park is located just east of Winslow Arizona. We hadn't planned to stay here, but were looking for a campsite between the Grand Canyon and the Petrified Forest and the description of this park in our guide book sounded interesting. We stopped in a got a campsite with electric hook up ($25) at about 4 pm. There were also... More

Great place to visit; pottery shards lying everywhere (don't touch!) and a great visitors center with excellent displays. Attended a wonderful Hopi celebration there with dancing and planting corn Hopi style in 2011. More

Lots of easy walking, but not much to look at. Good vista points to surrounding open spaces. More

I'm sorry to tell you that people haven't been following the rules. So all of the potsherds that were laying open on the grounds some years ago are gone. Still a great place for a hike. It can get very HOT here. More

Not the most interesting native American site that we have visited but it was not busy and the views are gorgeous. More

Most of the Native American ruins were discovered many years ago. But this ruins site was started in 1989 and is an active archeological dig, which is really exciting. Some of the relics they have found there are displayed in the visitor's center museum. The state park serves as a research center for the Hopi ancestors. "Homolovi" is a Hopi... More
