We are so happy we heard about the Rock Art Canyon Ranch just before our trip to Winslow and Mounument Valley. We have travelled throughout Arizona, Utah and New Mexico and this is, by far, the best petroglyphs we have ever seen. The owner, Mr. Baird, will escort you to the canyon on a somewhat rugged road from his ranch/museum.... More

We enjoyed our day at Rock Art Canyon Ranch. It's certainly nothing fancy and the "museums" are just a nice collections of old artifacts found laying around but, it'll hold your interest if you decide to go by. The owners are most accommodating to visitors. Mr. Baird is a true western gentleman and a real story teller. His history and... More

This was a truly wonderful day. We were especially lucky to have a private tour with Mr. Baird and enjoyed it thoroughly. Our picnic at the canyon overlook and a leisurely walk through the canyon was the perfect way to spend our 35th anniversary. More

We enjoyed this stop from beginning to end. It's a dry and dusty place, but we were surprised to enter the canyon to find water, greenery, and lots of petroglyphs. Our host and his daughter were friendly and entertaining. We're glad we stopped! More

Great people who spent quite a bit of time showing us the petroglyphs. The only complaint: the wind, which was awful, but what can you do about that? More

It's off the beaten path, and not too well visited (5 other people the day we visited) but WELL worth a visit no matter how far you need to drive. I'm into rock art and petroglyphs and his ranch hosts panels and panels of well preserved art dating back hundreds/thousands of years. Brantley is a complete character as well -... More

We saw a brochure at La Posada and called right away. The owner met us, talked a bit (we assumed to make sure we weren't vandals) and left us with a national treasure. We have been volunteers documenting petroglyphs in New Mexico and had never, ever, seen such quantity and quality. We loaded the cameras' cards and drained the batteries.... More

I found Rock Art Ranch coincidentally through Google. It's a real working ranch with cattle and bison - and a historical Anasazi site. Petroglyphs, an extensive collection of Western artifacts and beautiful vistas and landscapes. It stands out as an experience because the guide is also the owner/rancher. Brantley Baird has lived and worked on this land for over 60... More

We went to this ranch and the owner showed us his buildings. He was a very kind and knowledgeable man. Fun seeing the old tools, implements, pottery. Then he took us to the canyon with all the petroglyphs (stopping at some sights along the way). He left us to climb down into the canyon, and we explored on our own.... More
