Awesome trail. Easy start to moderate hike to the jeep trailhead. All ages can participate. Gets steeper near the top. Some boulder scrambling to the saddle. Rock climbing from the saddle to the very top. Most hike only to the saddle. Great views. Worth the drive to get there. Go to the Wickenburg Chamber to receive a certificate stating you... More

I do this about once a year. It's strenuous, but fun and the view at the top is unbelieveable. You can go to the saddle which is very doable or to the very top which is a little scary for novices.

Beautiful hike with well maintained trails. Relatively easy trail up to the saddle. The climb to the very top is just that --- a climb. Don't forget to sign your name if you make it to the top.

Beautiful views and a good work out. Vulture Peak Trail meanders through Sonoran Desert landscapes, with saguaro, ocotillo, cholla, barrels, hedgehogs and such. From the base to the saddle is about 2 miles of steep trails. you will be rewarded with dramatic scenic vistas of rugged desert mountain ranges and valleys in all directions. If you are in good shape... More

A little hard to find-turn where the sign says Vulture's Peak .5 miles. We thought it meant go another .5 miles but that's where you turn and can park. Also, GO EARLY or you will be too hot. We left at 5:30 am and made it to the top in an hour. It takes about an hour or so to... More

We did the hike about 10 am in March, a great temperature. There is outdoor facilities, no water at the start of the trail. The hike starts off easy, quite flat, through little forests of teddy bear cacti. After about a mile (end of the 4 wheel drive trail) the hike becomes a more difficult hike up to the saddle.... More

If you love saguaros and chollas and hedgehog cactus and pancake prickly pears and occotillos and sand and warmth and solitude, you'll love this hike. Go as far as you wish, hang out.

Hike was well worth it, views are spectacular from the saddle. Tough hike the last 1/4 mile. Take plenty of water!

The vulture peak trail makes you feel free of the city and your daily routine. When your on this trail your close to Wickenburg but you feel like your miles from civilization. The trail is challenging hike but the view is spectacular and little changed in 10000 years. The day we were on the trail we saw a hila monster.

The saguaro are plentiful, the views are great, and the desert is blooming, with lots of local birds. One of my favorite stops off Highway 93.
