We visited in April and the humming birds feeders were up in several areas and one can sit and see many varieties and take pictures. Hiking on the trail we also saw deer and wild turkeys and many other varieties of birds. There is also a lodge on site plus a gift shop. They have excellent posters of all the... More

We hiked and birded just to the overlook and had a lovely time despite few bird sightings. I suspect the wind and the over dry conditions attributed to the low numbers. We did see Painted Redstart (heading up to the overlook), White-Throated Swift (at the overlook), Dusky-Capped Flycatcher, Black-throated Grey Warbler, Arizona Woodpecker, Bridled Titmouse, Hutton's Vireo, Hermit Thrush, Red-tailed... A fine little store and info center to begin, then an uphill, but easy circular nature trail to follow. If you're really lucky and can stand some heat, in the summer you might catch sight of the Elegant Trogon. If you're truly a hiker, this can be the start of a good long, uphill trek. More

I'd heard about this place and decided to check it out. There were three deer eating on the beginning trail who just looked at me and didn't move. It was kind of neat. They have a lot of humingbirds in the area. I hiked up one trail and it branched off into three/four other trails that went from 3 miles... More

This is a wondewrful place to hike and view hummingbirds! The vegetation is very lush, and there were several guides along the trails to answer questions. If you are lucky you will see many species while you are here. They also have a lot of hummingbird feeders where one can just sit and observe. The Visitor Center has a lot... More

Although we were there when there was wind and rain, the short walk that we did do was very interesting and beautiful. This canyon is a stark difference to the desert surroundings...full of trees and green. The folks at the nature center were very friendly and helpful. More

We spent about 2 hours hiking up the trail. We saw some white-tailed deer and the scenery was nice, especially the sycamores and rock cliffs. No birds were in evidence (we were there late in the afternoon). More
