We drove out to Slide Rock State Park because I wanted to see the water, which was nice. It was far too chilly for me to think about going in the water. It is a nice place for a picnic or if you/your kids want to go in the water, but there wasn't a whole lot else to do. There...

I've lived in Arizona for 37 years and don't recall ever stopping at Slide Rock so took the time to stop when I was headed from Flagstaff to Sedona. I discovered that this was an homestead at one time and there had been an apple orchard there at one time as well. To get to the creek area, you have...

You can do some splashing in the creek but there's almost no hiking in this park and the price was something like $10. It's not covered by the Red Rock Pass.
We wanted to do some hiking but this is the place to just to seat near the creek and relax. It didn't look like you can go swimming in...

Stopped on our way to the Grand Canyon and even though it was too cold to swim we enjoyed hiking over the rocks and seeing the most spectacular views. My husband loved the orchard and the antique farming equipment and we loved the nature
This is definitely worth visiting. The park is uniquely situated in the canyon and the walk down to the creek is so nice. It was fun just to walk there and hang out near the creek.
Slide Rock and bathroom facilities are easily accessed. There's is not much of a trail but there are pathways to explore and. of course, rocks to climb and walk on. Very nice place to bring a picnic, and wish we had done so, Recommend adults wanting some quiet time to go early to avoid crowds of kids. We left as...

Slide rock is a fun place to visit. Try to go when it's off season here. If its really crowded be careful of bacteria in the water. Otherwise once again beautiful spot.
I've been visiting for years, slide rock is something to see but the place is trashed and so crowded you can't enjoy it. There is trash everywhere, glass, diapers, dirty people etc. It gets closed down a lot because of water quality. It's truly a beautiful place, but dangerous for kids to slide around in. Those rocks are unforgiving, you...

We were looking for the thrill of floating down the natural water slide but the lack of water made it impossible. If there was more water, this would have been fun.
