Paulo Soleri died in early May but his foundation is still making the cast bronze and clay bells in Scottsdale. Arrive early, wander around, ask when they will be pouring the bronze and stay and watch. It is an amazing sight. Bells range in size and price from very affordable ones around $40 to the few hand signed ones of... More

Honestly, the only reason we go here is to buy Solari bells. It's interesting to see the foundation and all, but it has a feeling of being passed over by history. Love the bells, though.

this place is a cool 30 minute activity to check out. There are a ton of beautiful bells on display and for sale. The day I went they were not pouring bells, so it was a quick trip. The staff was friendly. Nice stop in Scottsdale if you are in neighborhood but not worth a long drive.

On a weekend afternoon, the bronze foundry grounds had a few visitors wandering around, ringing various bells, and listening to the tonal chimes. Some guests seemed to be popping in to make a purchase--perhaps gifts. There are books, tee shirts, bells hanging from trees and structures, as well as pottery tiles; all for sale. We saw price tags ranging from... More

Visited Arcosanti and found it to be an interesting concept. Following the tour, take the hike across the crevasse and take a photo from the opposite side - great view of the complex. the Bells are beautiful.

I wouldn't go out of my way to see this place. As others have said, it is basically an outlet shop for the foundry's bells, sculptures and tiles. However, if you are nearby it is worth stopping in to see some of the architect's work, buy a bell, and possibly see the bells being cast in the outdoor foundry. We... More

Very interesting to see what unique work an "apprentice" of Frank Lloyd Wright has done. Paolo Solieri's dwellings obviously inspired sets for Star Wars. His sensitivity to the desert environment, world ecology and sustainability, makes one think about the way we live. Try to visit during the week. We arrived on a Saturday when the bronze forges were at rest.... More

Try to catch a pouring while you visit. To see the molten metal and the process of the molds and number of artists pouring is impressive. The grounds are so much more extensive and interesting then I thought they would be. There are lots of paths to take and archy structures like, little hives of activity! People are really friendly.... More
