This park is right across from the Phoenix Zoo. There is a small pond there where you could go fishing. You can do some hiking to a nearby mountain where you can climb up and view the city through a hole which is near the top of the mountain. This is a smaller mountain with an easy trail so it... More

Went here with a 2 and 4 year old and they had a super good time. Park was great for families and trails were super easy. If you are looking to kill a few hours in the beautiful sun come here. More

Visited the botannical gardens and loved it so much we bought a membership. In April most of the cactus and wildflowers are in bloom, and it is both beautiful and educational. More

I go to Papago Park several times a year. There are red rock buttes to climb, paved running/biking paths, dirt trails, shaded BBQ areas, and the park is right next to the zoo and botanical garden. You will to see desert flora and fauna (jackrabbits, roadrunners, chipmunks). 3 of the 4 buttes are easy to climb if that's your thing.... More

It is very close to the BW Papago Inn, and it is free. We went at sunrise and saw a coyote, many jackrabbits and various birds, even hummingbirds. I was surprised to see so much wildlife in the city. While climbing, the smog was noticeable though :( More
