Far too busy for water sport on Easter weekend, but the birds are fascinating, even to non-birders like us.

After a 4 day 3 night stay .
...ready to take on the week.
A very clean camp ground on lake Patagonia. Just about all camp sites have water and electric hook ups. There is a main bathroom with showers by the beach swim area . The staff keeps the entire place very clean. Overall a very nice and relaxing...

This state park is a beautiful surprise: a long, narrow man-made lake tucked into a bowl of high desert mountains. The lake has good fishing, several pretty coves & 12 boat-in campsites available by reservation. There are 3 smallish campground loops, all electrified, with water but no sewer (there is a dump station). Small store, marina with different types of...

This is a great little corner of Arizona, and not too far from the Tucson travel hub. We spent the morning here, had lunch in Patagonia, and then went to the Nature Conservancy property nearby (both reviewed separately). The state park has plenty of parking, a little general store for supplies, and many campsites and RV slots for rent, though...

Beautiful lake. Boats for rent. Store with supplies. Birding boat rides in the winter/spring season (sign up in advance). Overnight campsites and RV sites. Tons of birders hunting the elusive rare birds. Nice gift shop/supply store. Just a great place.
We were pleasantly surprised at how nice this lake is. Its great for camping. If you are gong to tent it, make sure is either in the spring or fall. This place is "super hot" in the middle of summer. I guess if you have an RV with air conditioning it would be ok. The camping spots are really close...

If you are a birder, don't miss a walk or stay in Patagonia Lake State Park. The birding trail is located at the east end of the lake and an easy walk among mesquites and cows. Follow inlet into the lake for a mellow stroll and you may even spot the popular elegant trogon, who is often in residence. During...

For five years my husband and I have camped at Patagonia Lake State Park during the winter to enjoy this birders paradise. Many make this a day-trip from a surrounding community just to walk the birding trail. We camp there for about a week and really enjoy the habitat and the fellow birders. There are guided bird walks on certain...

This is a small lake in the middle of the desert. There were a lot of people there in March. My wife and I went there to go to the nature trail for birding. We don't like crowds but the nature trail was about 1-1.5 miles long and was very quiet. Most of the people on the trail were of...

This is a one-of-a-kind campground and park ong the rugged red hills on southern Arizona. Many of the RV sites overlook the large lake. Birds and stationary wilderness marvels abound.
