We spent a few hours at Lake Pleasant. There are a few nice short hikes which can be fun. The water is very cold so no swimming unless it is a pretty hot day. Well, this is Phoenix, so there are a lot of pretty hot days! There is a marina where you can rent a boat for more fun. More

As another person pointed out, this is not a place to swim - but, it is a beautiful lake and a great place to hike. They have a store and a restaurant/bar. You can rent boats. There is a campground also. We went yesterday and took our 4 yr old grandson - he enjoyed seeing the ducks and the water... More

My husband and I have been on a kick to find new spots to go hiking now that we live in Phoenix. This past weekend we decided to check out Lake Pleasant Regional Park and let me tell you, we will definitely be back! Only about 30 minutes north west of Phoenix this Park is breathtaking. Most of our hikes... More

In the heat of an Arizona Summer one would want any water to submerge oneself. This is not the place! The shore is muddy and not inviting if you have children. Shade at a minimum. Fun if you have a boat or rent the paddle boats. Windy desert environment. More

We made this a day trip destination on our motorcycle. There is a minimal entrance fee. Enter the park from the Main Entrance for the Lake Pleasant Regional Park (Dam and Boat Landing are on the west side of the lake.) Check out Scorpion Marina. Dillard's Restaurant is on a pier if you want to dine on the water. Reservations... More

Lake Pleasant is a nice getaway from the Phoenix city. Specially for people who like camping, boating and/or fishing. Its at a 45 min driving distance from any part of the city and easily accessible by road. The Park is well maintained for an entrance fee of $6 per vehicle. You can rent a boat on hourly basis from the... More

I've lived in AZ since '86 and have been to this lake many times. Unless you have an RV with A/C, its best to NOT camp there during the summer months. Oct and Nov are nice along with March - May. I love Kayaking on this lake as it has many coves and nature to look at. There is also... More

My intentions were to take my wife, daughter and an elderly relative (86 years old) on a weekend outing to Lake Pleasant for the sole purpose of enjoying the site of the lake. On May 1, 2011, I perused the facility and found Site 40 to best suit my needs as far as views of the lake were concerned and... More
