MALBA is really the MoMA of BA, from the crowd to the artwork. The people watching is just as interesting as MoMA, if not better due to the latin vibe. Exhibition space is great, the size of the museum is not overwhelming and can be done if a few hours. A must see for art lovers!

I can't recommend a visit to this museum. The collection is not very interesting and the temporary exhibit, Bye Bye American Pie is the most outrageously anti-American thing I have seen anywhere. It was awful.

The museum is very interesting but I was very disappointed to find out that the Constantini Collection, which reunite Tarsila do Amaral, Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera and other important LA artists is off till October-2012. I believe the museum should make that clear on their website!

The permanent collection is so-so and the individual experience will hinge on the rotating collections, but we enjoyed MALBA. Spaces are well designed and the entire visit can be done in 2-3 hours. The attached cafe and patio is also worth a stop although prices are on the high side.

Current exhibit provocative without being memorable. Cafe overpriced.

However, the collection, or a vast part of it, is on tour in the United States....

This is a beautiful building with a fabulous collection that at times is shocking and other times playful. The restaurant serves first rate food and the patio is absolutely delightful. We saw the "Bye Bye American Pie" exhibit and were introduced to some American artist we knew nothing about before. It seems part of their permanent display is not available...

MALBA is a magnificent art gallery with lots of room for displaying work by Latin American artists, so it was unfortunate that the big show in place for our visit was a selection of works by US artists, gathered under the title "Bye Bye American Pie". Not really an impressive collection at that -- there are many US artists who...
