This colonial building opened as the traditional Tango House in Buenos Aires in 1969.

“Great evening at a reasonable price”

We felt our first visit to Buenos Aires would not be complete without a tango show. Our concierge recommended Almacen as a lower priced, but high quality alternative to the more expensive shows. “Entertainning show”

As a disclaimer, I don't know much about all the other venues.. We selected this one based on our hotel concierge's recomendation. We didn't hear good reviews about their food so we decided to just buy tickets to the show (VIP) . The decision of which tango show to choose was hard. After reading lots of reviews, we chose Viejo Almacen. It was situated in San Telmo and not far away from our hotel. “BEWARE: 50% Tango & 50% Variety Show. Not what I expected”

This is NOT a 100% tango/dancing show as I expected. There are A LOT of fillers in this show, including what seemed to be second-rate entertainment: an old lady singing, an old Miss America type singer and a folk-lore band (which weren't bad). The show was very diverse. In addition to the tango dancers, they had singers and an Indian "band". The dancers were terrific. When booking this, you have a choice to include dinner or not. Dear User: We want to somehow answer your comments and apologise. Our services explained that the dinner and the show are in different areas. Dinner starts at 20.00 and passengers who so desire are removed from the hotels at 19.30. We have therefore two hours to enjoy the dinner that is a la carte, not like in other traditional places...
