We visited Middelvlei Wine Estae with a group of Australian visitors in the pouring rain and had a wonderful time. There was a very welcome fire being stoked up to take the chill away from the storm outside. We started with a winetasting conducting by the bubbling Jeanneret who took us through their lovely wines. While this was going on...

Other positive reviews say it all. It's the Stellenbosch experience (great food, wine and views), but especially for those with little ones who may not be foodies but will certainly like the farm animals (plus wallabies and the many tortoises), the sand pit, the grass to run on, and the little lunch for them. You have to want to try...

We visited this wine farm today and had their braai for lunch. Included was snoek pâté on pot bread, lamb chop, delicious boerewors and pumpkin fritters ( the best I've ever had). The farm has resident goats, pigs, ducks, tortoises. The resident boerboel and sausage dogs are a lovely addition. R135 was a good price for a great traditional lunch
I wanted to take the family (ranging from 3yrs old to 80+ yrs old) for a lunch that everyone could enjoy plus keep the kids entertained. Despite the rain (the one day in our 5 week holiday) we had a fabulous time, the staff were great, extremely friendly and accommodating.
We sat indoors whilst the chef cooked his famous "braai"...

Amazing! Why do people visit South Africa and then go to a European Type Restaurant? At Middelvlei you can experience a South African meal together with excellent wines.
Middelvlei wine estate has a real farm feel and not so commercialized. We visited on Sunday during lunch time and discovered that they do a real good old fashioned boere braai. Unfortunately for us they only take reservations so we could only look and not eat. It is a tranquil setting with lots of space for young children to play....

I have been travelling to Stellenbosch for over twenty years, mainly to visit my best friend Dr James Jackson, who is probably the best vererinarian in South Africa. On one visit, I called to collect James for lunch, to find Ben Momberg had rung to say his dog had been run over and needed an operation, and so began the...

Thank You to Ben & Jeanneret for a brilliant visit to Middelvlei Wine Estate - You guys made us feel like we came home to visit family!! The Wine Tour, Tasting and Blending was an awsome experience and we will be back soon! The "Boere Braai" was absolutely great and well worth the money. Don't change anything!! You guys rock!!
We popped out to Middlevlei and were quite surprised to see Kangaroos and other animals. The ownwer went through the wines with us personally and told us why he had done and what he had done. It was a personal and lovely experience.
