You must be here when the Noon day gun goes off, plenty of grass to sit and enjoy the view. What a bang, when the gun does go off. Ears are still ringing. Take your own food

We drove up to see the Noon Day Gun and decided to visit the Restaurant for a coffee and pudding in the early afternoon. The best thing that I can say is that the views over Table Bay are amazing. None of the puddings that we requested were available, so we settled for an over-priced cup of coffee each. Not...

The views from up there is stunning but unless you are into old cannons then I really don't see visiting the noon gun salute to be anything special.

Make your way to the Bo-Kaap area and be surprised by the intense sound of the noon day gun going off. Then stop for a bite to eat in the area.

Great view and vantage point (views) and age old tradition being upheld. The noon gun is a local institution and a worth while trip (dont be late...LOL) it fires on-time (not african time)
