West Street Mosque is situated in the city centre. A convenient place for worshippers to go to at prayer times. Parking can be a bit of a problem. There are however, parkades close by where one can park and pay according to time.

Don't visit West street.
While tourists may think it is authentic to visit the centre of town, please do not fool yourself into thinking that the loiterers are tourist attractions. West, Smith, Point, Ordinance.... not safe!

Interesting history! Well worth a visit. Also nearby there is the spice market and some good book shops.

A landmark mosque, I believe one of the largest in the Southern Hemisphere offers a peaceful retereat ironically in the heart of the city centre. Quite symbolic of the misunderstood religion of Islam, a peaceful way of life amidst the chaos of the modern world. A must stop especially for the Friday noon prayer or sunset times inRamadaan.
