Well organized, interesting overview of cultural history of southern Africa and the development of homo sapiens. Very worthwhile.

Its a good visit with state of the art displays. But the political undertones once again spoils it for many who recognize the half-truths and one-sided story travelers are getting tired of.
An informative tour through this building is a must. Kids and adults have much to benefit from visiting this centre. There are eco-friendly considerations to how it's built and how the institution operates. The planetarium down the road could gain a lot from the way things are run at the Origins Center.
Origins Centre is a world class centre displaying mans origins, clearly and easily followed. A must see!
This is a great little museum with some interesting exhibits. Expect to take a max of 2 - 2 1/2 hours to see the entire museum. The cafe' at the museum has really good food but parking can be a bit of a challenge.
We spent a couple of hours wandering around the museum on a Saturday morning and virtually had the whole museum to ourselves. Loved the exhibition on the San bushmen especially after meeting some of them in the kalahari desert.
A very informative and well laid out experience. It really opens you up to in an informative and captive way of the origins of mankind coming from the Southern African region. They have interactive headsets to give you further information on each display, also in multi language.

The entire exhibit supports the theory that all humans descend from Africa and it is well laid out. The collection of Stone Age artifacts, fossils, rock art depicting hunts, DNA evidence all support this conclusion.
I am a fan of small museums that focus on a specific subject and give you an opportunity to learn quite a bit about that one subject. Places like the Rodin museum in Paris, and this museum where you learn about the people from whom we all descended. Good for kids, good for adults, check it out.
The University of the Witwatersrand has a very comprehensive collection of archaeological interests. I'd say the staff there are on the cutting edge of Southern African Archaeology
