Went with a small group from my hotel with a pleasant Hmong guide named Anh. Cost $5, including admission tickets. We stopped at a place that ground corn and another where they used indigo dye to make blue cloth. Lots of handicrafts for sale. We went to a small waterfall, then saw a local dance production in an old pump... More

I started out just walking around Sapa outside my hotel and ended up in CatCat Village for the afternoon! It's 40,000D admission to enter the village, but definitely worth it, especially since you can spend the day there. They have tours going there, but I recommend going here on your own, then a tour to a further village that is... More

It's a short walk(down hill) from sapa to cat cat village. Maybe half an hour. Yes - it is more touristy than the further-off villages, but it's still beautiful. And so convenient to do. You also never know who your walking partner may end up being (see picture). The prices for the North Face etc really are a bit cheaper... More

Great little village, easy walk down well constructed road, pathway and steps, but strenuous on way back up, especially in the heat of the day. It's 40,000VND (2AUD) to enter. The village itself provides a glimpse into the everyday life of the ethnic minority with several buildings selling the good old tourist wares. If you continue a little further on... More

A relaxing, lovely and beautiful place. The walkway are better with stone footpath, but with a bit of muddy path as well. The women in this village have fairer skin type and with beautiful feature as well. You will not have anyone following you and pester you to buy things from them. Nice food at their local home restaurant. Snacks... More

The village is nice with stairs going down all the way (no cars and motorbikes !) . You can see the local people with the traditional clothes At the end of the village there's a water fall going under a bridge. The only drawback is that the village is full of tourist shops all the way!

What a breath-taking view, the mountain range, the color of the local outfits, the terraced-rice fields (how did they do that!), the clouds. We were there in March on a sunny day, not too hot. If you pace yourself, you can really enjoy the trek up and down the hills. Our family ranging from 9 year old to 82 year... More

We had a lovely walk from Sapa to Cat Cat village in the early morning. The walk is not too long, however it is quite steep. We stopped at the viewing point and took some wonderful photos of the valley and rice terraces. There are a lot of market stalls about half way down selling handicrafts and water - but... More

It's a good village to visit if you have small kids and don't want to do much trekking ,as it's just near Sapa town. Although touristy, it's still worth a visit .I wouldn't call it a rip-off.You don't have to buy the souveniers if you are not interested.Just enjoy the view and the Black Hmong's surprising good spoken English.

If you enjoy mountain streams and natural beauty walk along the small trail that leads past the old generator plant up the ravine and away from the waterfall.
